TALLY WEiJL is a sassy fashion brand and one of the bold players of today's international fashion market. Self-made and family owned, the company went from a small garage in 1984 to a steady-growing business with over 780 stores, 3400 employees spread over 38 countries. With 12 offices around the world, the Design Studio located in Paris' city center and the Service and Support Center based in Basel, TALLY WEiJL breathes an exceptionally international atmosphere.
THE BEGINNING:
Tally Elfassi-Weijl, the Co-Founder of TALLY WEiJL, had an incredible passion for fashion and trends, even in her youth. While she was waiting to start her studies at a Hotel School in Lausanne, Switzerland, she used the time to develop her first fashion designs.FIRST STEPS:
Along with Tally’s studies, she was able to design 12 Collections per year in a small garage. Together with her business partner, Beat Grüring, the two supplied Swiss fashion houses and boutiques using their own car.THE FIRST STORE:
The collections sold so well that the idea to open their own Store quickly came to them. Finally, in 1987, the first TALLY WEiJL Store opened in Fribourg, Switzerland.INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION:
From then on, things really took off. More and more new stores in more and more countries have made TALLY WEiJL what it is today - an internationally successful fashion label with more than 780 stores in 38 countries.
