Energie was born from the intuition of Wicky Hassan, in 1983, when he opened a little store in Rome where people could find trendy and nowhere to be found apparel brands. The store called 'Energie” became a place for art and culture of the early 80’s, where several artists worked with Hassan to create exhibitions and special store front windows. The place soon became a draw for creative types and artists. In 1989 Wicky meets Renato Rossi, who believes that Wicky can turn the Energie project into a collection brand and with his support and business acumen, this year sees the birth of the first Energie collection as well as the launch of the business. Due to its success in Italy the brand quickly expands to cover the European Market and new headquarters are set up in Chieti, Italy. The first Energie store opens in Amsterdam in 1999. Energie launches its Footwear Collection in 2000 and extends its reach to branded leather goods as an Accessories line is launched through a licensing agreement with Principe in 2005. Energie goes online in 2008 and in 2009 the collection expands with eyewear as well. Energie's first appearance in the Milan Fashion Week Calendar follows in 2012. Sixty Group is the parent company of Energie.
